Broadcast Engineering Society (India) is a registered body of Broadcast Engineers under the Registrar of Societies with it’s headquarter at New Delhi.  It has over 2500 members and 50 corporate members.  The main purpose of this society is to promote broadcasting in the country and disseminate knowledge on the latest technologies involved in Radio and Television Broadcasting. In pursuit of this objective, the society conducts seminars, conferences and exhibitions throughout the year.  The flag ship program of the BES is the annual Expo and Conference.  This year’s BES Expo and Conference was held from 26th to 28th February, 2018 at Hall No. 7, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.  The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Information & Broadcasting Minister Smt. Zubin SmritiIrani in the presence of

Shri N.K. Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of I & B and Shri Shashi SekharVempatti, CEO, Prasar Bharati.   While inaugurating the conference and expo the Hon’ble Minister lauded the society for this initiative to spread the latest trends in broadcasting among the professionals in the country.  The conference which is one of the largest exclusive conference on broadcasting was held for three days on the theme “Non-Linear Broadcasting – Technology and Business Models”. It had seven session on various topics including Radio, Television and Broadcasting through non-conventional platforms.  Besides, there was exclusive tutorial sessions on trending technologies.  Around 800 delegates from India and abroad have attended this fully packed conference.

The exhibition displayed state of the art equipment from all over the world by the sidelines of the conference. More than 300 companies from different parts of the world have displayed their product on Radio & Television including Studio Production Equipment, Camera Systems, Satellite Uplink and Downlink equipment, Studio Transmitter Link, Receiving Systems, Antenna and so on. Around 3000 broadcast professionals visited the exhibition and updated their knowledge in the related fields. Mobile broadcast vans, Digital car radios, augmented reality and virtual reality in video production etc. were the star attraction of the exhibition. The highly successful event ended on 28th February, 2018, at 6.00 PM. All broadcasters in both Radio and Television across the networks have participated and appreciated the event. Next year’s Expo will be held on 17th, 18th& 19th of January, 2019, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
